Rabbi Yitzchok Melber
Founder & President – Tahareinu
Rabbi Yitzchok Melber grew up in New York and moved to Israel at the age of 19 where he began to study for Rabbinical Ordination from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. Upon ordination and working as a rabbi in the community, Rabbi Melber swiftly grasped the need to address the lack of education and awareness of women’s health issues in the greater Jewish community, and, together with his wife Mrs. Chaya Melber, founded the organization Tahareinu.
Rabbi Melber pursued a degree in Public Health Advocacy along with a Masters in Leadership from Tel Hashomer Hospital (the University hospital of Tel Aviv University). Over the past 13 years, Rabbi Melber made it his mission to attend all medical conferences centered around the field of women’s health, reproductive health, and fertility, and bring the latest innovations and information back to the public in an easily understandable and digestible manner via the Tahareinu hotline, in-person consultancy sessions, and public education. To date, the Tahareinu hotline fields upwards of 3000 phone calls a month from all over the world, and provides education and awareness in all areas of women’s health and fertility to over 500 professionals a year.
Rabbi Melber is a member of the Israel Health Ministry’s Commission on the Advancement of Women’s Health, and has written numerous works on infertility, contraception, and intimacy dysfunction.
